Hello MBA aspirants!
This is the first cut analysis of the XAT exam based on attempts taken by the Bfactory student fraternity.
The three hour XAT 2020 exam had multiple sections: Verbal and Logical Ability: 26 questions, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation: 27 questions, Decision Making – 22 questions – which will be evaluated for percentile calculation and a GK section: 25 questions which will not be counted in the calculation.
As per the student feedback, QA was on the moderate to difficult side. VA and DM were tricky, but not majorly different from expectations. Students found the paper very similar to the previous 2-3 year XAT papers in terms of level of difficulty. Scores are not expected to rise much.
Major surprise was some sections with no negative marking. Of course a surprise that students usually love 😉 However, this created some confusion around.
GK section was on the difficult side with quite a few questions from financial know how and history.
Too early to call the exact sectional shots, but more or less you can rest assured if you have 12+ in each section. 10+might also give you a good chance. Section cut offs vary +- for XLRI BM and HRM courses.
No major change in cut off can be expected. First impression, we predict 37+- to be the cut off score for XLRI BM and 33+- for XLRI HRM. Expect SP Jain and XIMB at 29-31 and GIM at 27-28. TAPMI and Great Lakes at around 24-25. LIBA, IFMR at 22-24. XISS HRM at around 19-20. XISS Marketing at around 15-16.
Good time to start GD-WAT-PI prep rolling now!
