Hello CAT aspirants!
Smart prep is all about knowing what to spend more time on! It is about knowing which topics need to be covered in depth and which topics can just be touched and be done with. To understand Smart prep for CAT, we need to know the importance of topics in the exam.
CAT does not release a syllabus. All we know that CAT prep is all about building aptitude. Some topics come more frequently than the others. In this article, I am sharing Bfactory idea of CAT syllabus based on past 27 years CAT papers. Will also share which topics come more these years! These years, total duration of the exam is 3 hours and total number of questions asked is 100. Have a look at the section break up.
While describing the syllabus, I will highlight the topics which are more important than the others. Let me start with the Verbal section:

So, the idea of this article was to give you an idea of what topics to focus on for CAT.
> You need to give approx 85 percent of your prep time to the topics mentioned as “Most Important”. If you keep this in mind, you will be doing SMART prep 🙂

what about games and tournaments, isn’t it important??
Games and tournaments important too. But not just as important as it used to be 3-4 years back. But yes, will fall under important category even now. I missed mentioning it. Thanks Aashi!
