By first hand experience of Bfactory CAT 19 takers

Hello CAT takers!

Overall the paper was pretty similar to last year CAT paper. Let me share section wise experience.

Verbal Ability: Moderate

1 RC was tough in reading. 1 was moderate. 3 were easy.

Reading: A feeling of old time CAT reading slightly came back in this paper. Society, technology and environment topics were there similar to last 3 years.

Overall question wise, the level was slightly higher than previous 2 year CAT papers.

VR was easy. Para Summary – moderate, Para Jumbles and Odd one out -easy.

All in all – paper was slightly higher in level of difficulty when compared to CAT 18.

Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning: Moderate to Difficult

DI LR was still the toughest section among the three sections. However it was slightly easier than CAT 2018. There were 2 easy sets which if selected would give an edge to CAT takers. 1 easy matrix based from LR and 1 direct DI based. But still it takes time to solve extra sets. Score will go slightly up in this section.

Topics: Graph based set was there, group/team formation, puzzle type and matrix based were there.

Quantitative Ability: Easy to Moderate

Arithmetic was easier than last time. Questions based on previous year CAT papers were there – typical race question, typical number of steps to reach type questions were there. Indices and log were doable. Still not all questions were easy to hit. Overall moderate.

Major topics: Arithmetic – TSD,T&W, Mixing, Commercial maths, Log, Indices, Number system, Geometry, area, axis based, function.
