Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation: Very doable section. Level was a notch easier than normal expected level in XAT. Students who would have solved previous year XAT papers properly would have been happy going through this section. Section had a total of 27 questions, 21 from Maths and 6 from Data Interpretation. Geometry had the highest weightage amongst chapters in Quants with a total of 7 questions.
Section level: Easy to moderate
Verbal ability and Logical Reasoning: Reading comprehension was the single largest topic covering almost 50% of the section weight. A couple of Para Jumbles and a reasoning set was also there. Overall length and level was a bit on the higher side. These 24 questions would have slowed students a bit.
Section level: Moderate
Decision Making: 21 questions. Mostly lengthy. This section was the challenging one. Students who could have managed the volume of information thrown at them and would have used elimination of options would have done well.
Section level: Moderate to Tough
GK was nice in the sense that almost half the questions were from current affairs. Essay was also a moderate level exercise with the topic being unambiguous and the word limit being set at 200 words only. Typing on screen might have challenged those who do not have the practice of typing. GK and essay section will not be counted for calls.
Overall paper level: MODERATE
