TISS-NET 2018 Analysis
TISS offers MA in Human Resources Management and Labor Relations (HRM & LR) programme at its Mumbai campus. It also offers various other Masters degrees. The entrance test consists of objective questions related to Social Sensitivity, Logical Reasoning, Analytical Ability and Knowledge on Contemporary issues. The exam is held for 100 minutes (1 hour & 40 minutes).
Out of 40 questions, 28 questions were from current affairs and remaining questions were from static GK. Most of the questions from current affairs were on government schemes. The difficulty level of this section was higher compared to last year.
Time to be allocated: 15-18 minutes
Expected cut-off: 22-24 marks
Section 2: Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning
Most of the questions were easy. There were 5 questions from arithmetic, 5 from sequence and series, 8 questions from DI (in sets of 1 and 2 questions) and 8 questions from logical reasoning (clock, cube, direction and syllogism). Difficulty level of the section was very easy.
Time to be allocated: 40-45 minutes
Expected cut-off: 24-26 marks
Section 3: English Proficiency
There were 2 RCs with 5 questions each. There were 13 questions from grammar: 4 sentence correction, 4 from error identification and 5 in form fill in the blanks. 5 questions from vocabulary in different forms like synonyms, homonyms and idioms. The difficulty level of the section was easy.
Time to be allocated: 35-40 minutes
Expected cut-off: 21-23 marks
Overall Score: Expected cut-off for TISS MA program would be around 75-78.
