IIFT question paper includes 4 sections namely English Grammar, Vocabulary and Comprehension, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Analysis. Number of questions varies every year. The duration of the test is 2 hours. Each section will contain different marks ranges .There is a provision of negative marking. The most important thing that aspirants should keep in mind while attempting paper is the sectional cut off. This means that test takers need to perform in all the sections.
The IIFT exam is not one of those exams which can be stereotyped based on the level of difficulty. Students can get a good perspective about the varying level of difficulty by noticing that the cut-offs for IIFT Delhi over the last three years have varied from 38.5 to 50.
This variability is why it is of utmost importance that students spend a few minutes at the start of the exam to judge the difficulty level of the exam. Based on the difficulty the student should look forward to make a suitable number of attempts.

1. You should know at first hand that how much time you need to devote to each sections and maximizing sectional scores. Also, keep a backup plan ready. There could be a shift in pattern. Be prepared to deal with new exam pattern. The ideal thing to do is to attempt the easy questions first and then attempting the difficult ones.
2. Sectional attempts: IIFT has announced the sectional cut-offs over the last 3 years So, candidates need to attempt a minimum number of questions in each section to maintain an overall balanced score.
3. Speed and Accuracy: Speed is another important factor as IIFT is an exam of speed and accuracy, move on immediately if a question doesn’t strikes you. While attempting Reading Comprehension: Glance through the passages and attempt the passages which you are comfortable with based on the subject of the passage.
Last but not the least, marking in IIFT is not same for all the questions. There is different marking for different questions in different sections. So, you need to select a question wisely based on the marks and the toughness level.
