Motivation takes different forms as you prepare for a big competitive exam like CAT. These forms might not be as linearly arranged in real life as shown in the diagram below, but more or less describe the five stages of a successful try at an examination.
With confidence, go crack the exam!
In the course of these stages, there will be times when you might feel lost. You might get a feeling that you have missed things or wasted some time. But, stay put! Keep doing, keep moving ahead on the preparation curve. Remember, we all make mistakes at times, we all waste time at times; but the key lies in staying on the curve. The ability to win over fear of loss and the ability to be persistent holds the key.
Look at great people! Lets talk about Virat Kohli. Virat failed in English conditions in a test series. He came back and sought mentorship from the great Sachin Tendulkar. He worked on his weakness and bounced back as a Legend. Learn from Virat. We all feel low and down at heart and in performance at times in our lives. The key lies in growing above it and rising to the sky.
Talk about Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj, we all know, won over cancer and came back to become the richest IPL buy a year ago. Champions never give up! They bounce back! They keep on the curve.
Look at Amitabh Bachchan. After his company ABCL went to the verge of bankruptcy, he was broken. But, he bounced back with KBC and the new hot old man avatar in Bollywood. He never gave up!
Moral of the story is: Remember - preparation for a big competition is a long process. Acknowledge the time and the efforts you need to put to achieve. Never loose hope. Even if you falter or waver left or right in preparation, stay on the curve - bounce back! You can win!
