Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation and Quantitative analysis.The duration of exam is two hours and the number of question varies each year.
IIFT is expected to bamboozle the candidate with its upbeat nature. The reasoning section is expected to be tough whereas, the data interpretation and verbal & comprehension section are relatively easier and the quantitative ability section is relatively moderate. The level of the exam is moderate to tough (based on last year’s paper).
Important points related to section wise chapter weightage,level of diffulcty expected are given below.
- Reading Comprehension & Verbal Ability – Stress should be given to your vocabulary which makes the lion share in the section. Passages also take major space in the question paper. Idioms and Phrasal verbs is another important topic. Figures of speech, para-jumbles and para –completion are topics where you can score. Etymology is the most difficult subsection; the overall rating is expected to be moderate.
- General Awareness – Major chunk of GA section is based on the economy and business awareness. Rest share of the section touches current affairs, history, geography, books, sports, culture, technology, polity and miscellaneous. This section is expected to be moderate with business, economics, current affairs, history and geography.
- Quantitative Ability – The QA section focuses on the arithmetic subtopic, algebra, and Modern Maths(P&C and Probability). Few questions are also asked from set theory, geometry mensuration and trigonometry. Mostly, moderately difficult is expected with arithmetic, PnC and probability moderately tough.
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning - Arrangements , tables and combinations(with other graphs) is the major focus of this section. The section is expected to be moderately difficult with grouping, arrangements, series, tables and bar graphs difficult and sometimes Calculation Intensive.
